With Alice

Now and then in London, I spot something that's so wrong, it's right . . . unfortunately, I rarely seem to have the camera ready, or with me, to capture these rare moments . . . on this occasion I was all camera’d up, Sitting at a table, having an Avocado Wrap and OJ outside Pret a Manger in Carnaby Street.
I saw this guy who looked tough as nails, approaching quickly, powering through the crowd, walking with such purpose and determination, his muscles pumped and defined, his head set towards a point in the distance.
I thought, excellent, a really powerful possibility here if I can get a clear shot between the arms and legs of other pedestrians.
. . . then I saw the bag and grinned . . a big paper, candy striped bag with the word Alice printed on it . . . just perfect. It changed the whole context of the scene and added a wonderful touch of humour.
The crowd parted slightly, he broke into an open space and I took a run of photographs in quick succession . . . getting this wonderful shot for a painting.
Some days things just fall nicely into place.
